Korean War M1 Garand bayonet made from WW2 era US issues, WW2 era M8A1 scabbard. The bayonet is in rare UNUSED condition. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM.
Original 1950s South Korean Armed Forces bayonet made from repurposed US-made WW2 era M1 bayonets. The refit was done in the South Korean Republic by cutting-down the blade to the M5 blade size and grinding the blade down so it would fit into the M8 type scabbard. Most of these “Korean retrofit” bayonets were paired with US-issued WW2 era M8A1 scabbards, just like this specimen.
This specimen is in unused condition with original Parkerized finish that was re-applied after the retrofit. The bayonet is about 11″ / 28 cm overall; the blade is about 6-3/8″ / 16.2 cm long; the edge is very sharp; the tip is intact. Bayonet release mechanism is in perfect working order; al parts and tight with no play. Original black plastic grips are in excellent condition with just a few minor scuff marks. The handle is tight with zero play.
Original WW2 era US-made M8A1 composition scabbard is in good overall condition; rust staining around iron rivets is noted for accuracy. This Korean War M1 Garand bayonet has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way. It is in 100% original “as purchased” condition.
