Description
John Leitch custom boot knife, damascene blade, cocobolo handle; hand-made leather sheath with ancient circa 359-336 BC Greek coin. Simply beautiful piece of cutlery in minty UNUSED condition.
Another fantastic piece of work by the famous American knifemaker John Leitch. John is a known for his personal invention “damascene” pattern blades: ATS-34 stainless steel gets acid-etched during a special process for a beautiful relief. John’s signature logo is artfully etched within the pattern for a second-to-none look; it’s one of the best-looking little daggers you will ever have a pleasure to hold in your hands. The handle is exotic cocobolo wood secured with mosaic pins; polished silver-nickel bolsters; solid full-tang construction.
The knife is about 7″ / 17.8 cm overall; the blade is about 3-3/4” / 9.5 cm. Original edge is razor-sharp; needle-like tip is intact. A hand-made leather sheath is another custom job. It is of excellent quality; the center panel holds a small ancient Macedonian Kingdom bronze “unit” coin struck circa 359-336 BC during Emperor Philip II reign (father of the famous Alexander the Great – Alexander of Macedonia). This ancient Macedonian Kingdom coin by itself is worth about $100, by the way. The sheath is in excellent condition; the leather is soft and supple. This beautiful custom-made John Leitch custom boot knife will make a great addition to any collection.
