Imperial M7 bayonet USN Vietnam War tribute by The American Historical Foundation; USN commemorative issue, only 2500 made; original presentation case with COA, papers, shipping box – rare this nice and complete.

Rare M7 bayonet commemorative issue manufactured circa 1985 by Imperial Cutlery to the original mil specs as a limited run for The American Historical Foundation (AHF) located in Richmond, Virginia. This the post-Vietnam war limited edition run was limited to just 2500 serial-numbered bayonets of each type. AHF issued 4 commemorative Vietnam Tribute bayonets – one for each service branch.  This specimen is part of the US Navy commemorative; the serial number on this specimen is 0200 (engraved on ricasso). The bayonet comes with the original presentation case lined in navy-blue velvet , matching COA, order confirmation letter/various other AHF papers, a pair of white gloves for safe handling, and the original owner’s shipping box from The American Historical Foundation. The enclosed packing letter indicates January 22, 1986 delivery date to the original owner – this type rare this nice and complete. This commemorative bayonet was issued without a scabbard.

This M7 is about 11-5/8” / 29.5 cm overall; mirror-polished and deeply etched blade is about 6-1/2″ / 16.5 cm; it has not been re-sharpened, original edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. UNITED STATES NAVY VIETNAM letters, olive branches, and borders are plated with 22K gold.  Ricasso is finely engraved with SN 0200 one one side. Mirror-polished blade is excellent with no scratches or edge nicks; the etching on the blade is near-perfect. Black plastic handle is in excellent shape; the display side has a cloisonné seal for the US Navy branch. The handle is tight with no play; bayonet release is mechanically excellent; 24K gold-plated muzzle ring and pommel. The guard is stamped US M7 / IMPERIAL, just like on the original Vietnam War era issue.  Rare limited addition issue of M7 bayonet for the famous Vietnam War era M16. This rare AHF commemorative Imperial M7 bayonet USN Vietnam War tribute issue will make an excellent addition to any collection.

This Imperial M7 bayonet USN Vietnam War tribute piece has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos.
