Original WW1 era “private purchase” type fighting knife manufactured circa 1914-1915 by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie (W.K.C.) in Solingen, Germany.  This is a sturdy fighting knife with a solid cast metal handle made look like a deer stag, thick forged S-guard and original metal scabbard. This exact type is illustrated on page 60 of the excellent French reference book by Christian Mary Knives and Daggers-Bayonets Used by the German Army During 1914-1945 (see the book’s page scan in the photos).

This fighting knife is only slightly used – this type is practically impossible to find this nice as most were used during the war as intended. VERY rare type in better-than-average condition – no pitting, dings or nicks on the blade; the edge seems to be semi-blunt factory original. The tip is slightly nicked; minor surface rust on the blade is noted for accuracy.  This fighting dagger is about 10-7/8” / 27.7 cm overall; trailing-point blade is about 6” / 15.2 cm; “king & knight” factory logo on ricasso is nice and sharp. Original faux “stag handle is actually a solid cast metal with dark-brown enamel; the pommel, collar and S-guard still have most of the original black finish intact. All parts are tight with no play; remnants of the original green velvet washer are still on. Original metal scabbard is in excellent shape, considering it is over 110 years old. The scabbard holds the blade nice and tight with no wobble; over 95% of the original black finish on the metal is remaining; original belt hanger and is still intact; the keeper is MIA. After 100+ years this rare Germany WKC WW1 fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition still.

Not cleaned or otherwise messed with; these are the actual photos; Mauser clips are not included with the knife 😉 Don’t miss your chance to add this rare original WW-I era Germany WKC WW1 fighting knife / trench dagger to your collection!
