Hard-to-find pre-WW1 manufacture SOLINGIA brand pocket multi-tool made by Carl Schmidt Sohn Co. in Solingen, Germany. Carl Schmidt Sohn Co. was established in 1829; prior to WWI they had an import company in Manhattan, NY specializing in all kinds of German cutlery. The business was great until WW1 broke-out in 1914, resulting in the full-stop of all trade with the German Empire. During WW1 these small but very handy personal tool sets that would easily fit in a uniform’s pocket became very popular with the troops.

This scarce set comes all four original tools intact. Once a blade/tool is out, the metal carrying case forms the handle. An interesting, simple and reliable design. The case is about 3-1/8” / 8 cm by 1″ / 2.5 cm closed. The drop-point blade is about 2-1/4” / 5.8 cm long. The tools are intact; minor oxidation is noted for accuracy. The case is silvered brass; it’s in great shape, considering the age; hinges are intact. This vintage Germany Carl Schmidt Sohn SOLINGIA multi-tool set set is in great overall condition; it is certainly 100% serviceable still. Don’t miss your chance to add it this scarce vintage toolset  to your collection!

This rare Germany Carl Schmidt Sohn SOLINGIA multi-tool set has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos. I have a few vintage German-made knives, as well as some WW1 and WW2 era German combat knives, daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in the store’s Militaria section.
