The official 1897 British Royal Mint issue commemorative bronze medal struck for the commemoration of the Diamond (60-year) Jubilee reign of Queen Victoria. This large medal was designed by De Saulles; T. Brock was the engraver. Laurence Brown reference number 3506 in his “British Historical Medals 1760-1960, Volume 2“. The medal is about 55.7 mm in diameter; the weight is about 75.7 grams; plain rim. Not cleaned, wiped, or polished with original “untouched” brown patina throughout. The medal is still in the original Royal Mint issue leather-bound presentation case – rare this nice and complete.
