Original Cold War era 5-inch blade Jet Pilot Knife with original scabbard, honing stone, and leather leg tie. Slightly used, but in great condition overall. Manufactured in January 1986 by Ontario Cutlery Co. in upstate New York: the pommel is stamped ONTARIO / 1-1986. The knife is about 9-1/2″ / 24 cm overall; parkerized blade is about 4-7/8″ /12.5 cm. The blade has been re-sharpened, it is very sharp still; the tip is intact. The saw teeth on the blade’s spine are intact as well. Stacked leather washers handle with iron guard and hammer-like pommel; the handle is solid; the guard has a tiny bit of a play. Original-issue leather scabbard with a metal-reinforced tip/back and a honing stone in the pocket. The scabbard is in great shape as well; original leather leg tie is still attached. The leather is soft and supple still; all original stitching, rivets, and keeper are intact, the back side reinforcement plate is signed Josh Nelson. This great-looking Cold War 1986 Ontario Jet Pilot Knife will make an excellent addition to any collection of military blades.
This attractive Cold War 1986 Ontario Jet Pilot Knifee with original leather scabbard has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it’s in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
