Description

AHF USMC Ka-Bar MK2 fighting knife 1st Marine Division 24K gold-etched blade commemorative issue, only 1775 made. Original American walnut presentation case with papers and COA included. Hard to find this nice and complete.

This is the post-war limited edition run of the classic WW2 era Mark II fighting dagger manufactured by Ka-Bar in Olean, NY – one of the original MK2 makers during WW2. Although this is a presentation piece, this MK2 was manufactured to the original WW2 era specs; this is 100% solid, functional fighting knife. The 1986 limited run for The American Historical Foundation (AHF) was limited to just 1775 serial-numbered  USMC MK2s of each type (there were 6 commemorative USMC MK2s  in total). The stunning mirror-polished, deep-blued blade is plated with 24K gold; the guard and pommel are gold-plated as well. This is the First Marine Division specimen with serial No. 200 finely engraved on ricasso. The knife comes with various order papers, COA SN 0200, glass-top walnut presentation case, original cardboard sleeve, and the original owner’s shipping box.  This commemorative fighter was sold without a scabbard.

The knife is about 12” / 30.5 cm overall; the blade is about 7″ / 17.8 cm; it has not been re-sharpened, original edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers handle with gold-plated metal fittings,  the display side has a cloisonné seal for the 1st Marine Division; all parts are tight with zero play; all original 24K gold plating is intact. Mirror-polished and deeply-etched blade with 24K gold-filled etching on one side. Ricasso is marked USMC on one side, and KA-BAR / OLEAN, NY on the other, just like on the original WW2 era MK2 issue. Rare limited addition issue of the famous WW2 era Mark II fighting knife. This rare commemorative AHF USMC Ka-Bar MK2 fighting knife will make an excellent addition to any collection.

This AHF USMC Ka-Bar MK2 fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos.
