Original Alexander III era silver 1885 silver prize award from the Russian Crafts Exhibition which took place in St. Petersburg in 1885 (ремесленная выставка 1885 г. в Петербурге). Very popular and highly collectible Imperial Russian medal. Silver medals are rare; well-preserved specimens are VERY hard to find. Struck in “84 zolotniks” silver fitness – the medal is stamped on reverse at 12 o’clock with the fitness stamp and St. Petersburg “anchor” assay mark; about 22 mm in diameter; weights 5.6 gm .
