Original circa 1942 “Russian Winter Campaign” WW2 Germany 1941 East Winter Battle medal in great overall condition. A lot of Wehrmacht soldiers who took part in Operation Barbarossa in Russia were awarded this medal. But only a lucky few lived to see the end of the war. The medal is about 36.3 mm in diameter; 44.5 mm top-to-bottom. Non-magnetic zinc alloy with black finish on both sides; original ribbon is included. Not cleaned with original patina; no typical rim nicks, dings or scratches – this type is scarce this nice. This specimen has not been cleaned or tempered with in any way; these are the actual photos.
