WW2 American Utica Cutlery M1 bayonet with 10-inch blade-NOT a cutdown, original M7 composition scabbard; excellent condition, considering the age.

Original WW2 era so-called pattern M1942 “short” M1 bayonet and  M7 composition scabbard for the Garand M1 Battle Rifle. Manufactured by Utica Cutlery under the government contract during the war (U.C. and U.S. “flaming bomb” mark on ricasso). Unlike most of the “short pattern” bayonets of the era, this one is NOT a cut-down re-manufactured from the pre-war 16-inch blade M1905 bayonet – a great find.

The bayonet is only slightly used – much better than average condition for the type. The blade has been sharpened to a razor-like edge; the tip is intact. Muzzle ring is great with no contact marks; problem-free pommel; bayonet release mechanism is tight & 100% functional. The handle is stamped with a capital letter H on the spine. The bayonet is about 14-5/8″ / 37.2 cm overall; well-finished blade is about 10″ / 25.4 cm. No edge nicks or dings on the blade’s spine; about most of the original parkerized finish remaining. Original M7 composition scabbard is painted OD-green; the underside plate is sharply stamped B4/1N; steel throat is marked with US “flaming-bomb” ordinance mark. This M1/M7 set is in great shape overall; it is in 100% serviceable condition still.

This WW2 American Utica Cutlery M1 bayonet has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, the set is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the knife 😉 I have a few more WW2 US-made bayonets, as well as some scarce WW1 and WW2 era fighting daggers and trench knives made in the US, Great Britain, France, Germany, and other countries available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
