WW2 American theater fighting knife made from M4 bayonet blade, original leather scabbard; great overall condition, considering the age.
This well-made fighter is about 11-5/8” / 29.5 cm overall; the blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17.2 cm. Polished bayonet blade is excellent with no edge nicks or dings on the spine; the edge (including the “false” edge) is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers handle with a solid bronze guard and hammer-like pommel; the lower part of the handle’s “rat tail” is drilled for a lanyard attachment. All parts are solid; the handle is tight with no play. The knife comes with original well-made leather scabbard. The scabbard is in great shape; the keeper is nice and tight. The leather is soft and supple; all original rivets and stitching are intact; this scabbard is in 100% serviceable condition still. The knife and the scabbard are completely unmarked.
