WW2 American ROBESON ShurEdge fighting knife, original-issue leather scabbard included. Scarce type in great overall condition, considering the age.

Original WW-2 era American fighting knife made by Robeson Cutlery. This is a so-called “private purchase” fighting knife that Robeson was manufacturing during the war in order to satisfy the demand for quality fighting blades. Not particularly rare WW2 fighting knife, but this type is scarce in high grades / in nice presentable condition. This exact type is illustrated on page 214 of the KNIVES OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY WORLD WAR II book by Michael W Silvey – a well-established expert and the author of a number of books on the subject of the US military edged weapons (see pages scans attached).

This fighting knife is about 10-1/2” / 26.7 cm overall; the blade is about 6-1/8″ / 15.5 cm. The edge is excellent with no nicks – it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers handle with steel guard and hammer-like pommel. All parts are solid; the handle is tight with no play.  The knife comes with original-issue leather scabbard. The scabbard is used; the keeper is a bit stiff and dry but overall the scabbard is in 100% serviceable condition still. The leather is soft and supple; all original rivets and stitching are intact.

This original WW2 American ROBESON ShurEdge fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition still; with proper care it will last another 75 years 😉 This attractive fighter knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it’s in 100% original “as is”  condition. These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the lot 😉
