Vietnam War US Milpar M7 bayonet manufactured by Columbus Milpar & Mfg. Original M8A1 PWH composition scabbard. Great overall condition, considering the age.
Original Vietnam War era M7 bayonet manufactured by Columbus Milpar & Mfg (Milpar). The M7 was first issued in 1964; it was originally designed for the M16 rifle but it will fit several later-produced US combat rifles, including the current M4 carbine. This bayonet is about 11-7/8″ / 30 cm overall; parkerized blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17.2 cm long. The blade is very sharp; the edge appears to be factory original; the tip is intact. Ricasso is unmarked as intended; muzzle ring/guard is stamped US M7 on one side, MILPAR on the other. Black plastic handle grips are tight and in near-perfect condition; bayonet release mechanism is excellent and 100% functional; all handle parts are solid with no play.
Original M8A1 composition scabbard was made by Pensilvania Working Home for the Blind (PWH) in the late 1960th-early 1970th. The unpainted “gun-gray” steel throat is stamped USM8A1 / PWH on the front side; web hanger is excellent with no stains, mold, or rust; what looks like a faint number 130 in black marker is on the back webbing. All scabbard parts are nice and tight with no damage.
This original Vietnam War US Milpar M7 bayonet and M8A1 composition scabbard are near-excellent and in 100% serviceable condition. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original “as is” condition; spent brass is not included with the lot 😉 We have more Vietnam War fighting knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 American and European fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
