Vietnam War US BOC M7 bayonet with XX-marked blade; original PWH M8A1 composition scabbard. Field-used condition; decent shape overall.

Original Vietnam War era M7 bayonet manufactured by BOC. The M7 bayonet was first issued in 1964; it was originally designed for the M16 rifle but it will fit several later-produced US combat rifles, including the current M4 carbine.

This specimen is in the typical field-used condition with the electrical tape-wrapped handle and interesting double-X markings on the blade (could be “kills” marks??). The bayonet is about 11-7/8″ / 30 cm overall; blued blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17.2 cm long; heavily re-sharpened; the  tip is a bit rounded. The spine has ding marks from hammering on it – pretty typical for jungle-used bayonets and knives. Ricasso is unmarked as intended; muzzle ring/guard is stamped US M7/ BOC. Black plastic handle grips are wrapped in black tape. Original M8A1 composition scabbard was made by Pensilvania Working Home for the Blind (PWH) in the late 1960th-early 1970th. The unpainted “gun-gray” steel throat is stamped USM8A1 / PWH on the front side; web hanger is excellent with no stains, mold, or rust; the plastic body has a few scratches and scuff marks but no cracks or other “terminal” damage. All scabbard parts are nice and tight with no play.

This original Vietnam War US BOC M7 bayonet and PWH M8A1 composition scabbard are in 100% serviceable condition still. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original “as is” condition.  I have a few more Vietnam War fighting knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 American and European fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
