Vietnam War era Conetta M7 bayonet and original-issue early M8A1 composition scabbard made by Beckwith Mfg Co. (marked BM CO. on the throat). Great overall condition, considering the age.

Original Vietnam War era M7 bayonet manufactured by Conetta – as scare type as Conetta produced only about 130,000 M7s out of over 3 million made and went out of business before the war was over. The M7 bayonet was first issued in 1964; it was originally designed for the M16 rifle but it will fit several later-produced US combat rifles, including the current M4 carbine.

This specimen is in scarce practically unused condition; the bayonet is about 11-7/8″ / 30 cm overall; parkerized blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17 cm long. The blade is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. Ricasso is unmarked as intended; muzzle ring/guard is stamped US M7/ CONETTA  on one side. Black plastic handle grips are tight and in near-perfect condition; bayonet release mechanism is excellent and 100% functional; all handle parts are tight with no play.  Early “no metal tip” M8A1 composition scabbard was manufactured in the late 1940th – early 1950th by Beckwith Mfg Co.  (BM CO.) division of Victory Plastics. The steel throat is stamped USM8A1 / TWBBM CO on the front side; web hanger is excellent with no mold, or rust; the front side was field-sprayed with non-reflecting black paint. All scabbard parts are nice and tight.

This original Vietnam War era Conetta M7 bayonet and BM Co. M8A1 composition scabbard are in excellent shape and in 100% serviceable condition. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original “as is” condition; spent brass is not included with the lot 😉  I have more Vietnam War fighting knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 American and European fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
