Classic US military MK2 fighting knife manufactured by Camillus Cutlery in Camillus, NY; comes with the original period dark-brown leather scabbard. MK2 is the classic American fighting knife; this type was used in combat in all theaters of WW2 and in virtually every war thereafter. This MK2 is used, but it’s in better than average condition for the type.
This MK2 is about 12-1/8″ / 30.8 cm overall; the blade is about 7″ / 17.8 cm. The edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact; no ding marks/nicks on the spine or the edge edge. Ricasso is stamped U.S. / CAMILLUS N.Y. on one side; the guard is unmarked, as it should be. Some light surface rust on the blade and guard is noted for accuracy. Stacked leather washers handle with moisture-protective varnish coat; all washers are tight. Steel guard and heavy-duty pommel are also tight with no play. Round hammer-like pommel is in great shape with no nicks or ding marks; about 50% of the original black paint remaining. Original all-leather scabbard is unmarked as intended; all original stitching and rivets are intact; the leather is still soft and supple still. Solid Vietnam War era MK2 fighter great overall condition, considering the age; this type is getting harder to find, especially in better grades.
This attractive Vietnam War era Camillus MK2 fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original condition; these are the actual photos.
