Description

Vietnam War BOC M7 bayonet, circa 1960th issue by Bauer Ord Company (BOC), original M8A1 PWH composition scabbard; great overall condition.

Original Vietnam War era M7 bayonet manufactured circa 1969 by Bauer Ord Company (BOC). The M7 bayonet was first issued in 1964; it was originally designed for the M16 rifle but it will fit several later-produced US combat rifles, including the current M4 carbine.

This specimen is in rare unused / unissued condition with original finish and factory edge. This Vietnam War BOC M7 bayonet is about 11-7/8″ / 30.2 cm overall; parkerized blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17.2 cm long. Factory original edge is very sharp; the tip is intact. Ricasso is unmarked as intended; muzzle ring/guard is stamped US M7 on one side, BOC on the other. Black plastic handle grips are tight and in perfect condition; bayonet release mechanism is excellent and 100% functional; all handle parts are solid with no play. Original M8A1 composition scabbard was made by Pennsylvania Working Home for the Blind (PWH stamp on the throat) in the late 1960th. The scabbard is unused as well; unpainted “gun-gray” steel throat is stamped USM8A1 / PWH on the front side; no spots or stains on the web hanger or oxidation around brass snaps and rivets.

I’m selling this item on a consignment; a reserve price has been set by the seller.
