Description

Vietnam War 1969 Ontario Jet Pilot Knife, early all-leather scabbard, Norton Pike honing stone; excellent overall condition, considering the age.

Rare early Vietnam War era 6-inch Jet Pilot Knife with original scabbard & honing stone included; manufactured in the late 1950th by Ontario Co. in upstate New York. Early 1969 manufacture – the pommel is stamped ONTARIO  / N.Y. / 1-1968. More information about the legendary American Jet Pilot Knives – aka the “aircrew survival knife” could be found on this dedicated Wikipedia page.

The knife is about 9-1/2″ / 24.3 cm overall; parkerized blade is about 5″ /12.8 cm; original factory edge; the tip is intact. The saw teeth on the blade’s spine are intact as well; this knife practically unused. Stacked leather washers handle with iron guard and hammer-like pommel; the handle is solid; all parts are tight with no play. Original-issue early style 11-rivet all-leather scabbard with the tie-down tip and honing stone in the pocket; the scabbard looks unused; green nylon shoe laces which would be used as leg ties are still on. Some minor green oxidation around brass rivets is noted for accuracy (cleanable). Overall, this scabbard is in excellent condition, considering the age – the leather is soft and supple still; all original stitching and rivets are intact, original keeper is intact and tight. The front pocket contains original-issue honing stone made by Norton Pike; the stone looks unused. This great-looking Vietnam War 1969 Ontario Jet Pilot Knife will make an excellent addition to any collection of military blades.

This attractive early Vietnam War 1969 Ontario Jet Pilot Knife with original all-leather scabbard has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it’s in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
