Description
Vintage Switzerland M1889 miniature bayonet – fancy souvenir letter opener, tiny original leather sheath and retail box included. Rare UNUSED condition.
Scarce circa 1930th – 1954th period letter opened made in the form of the Swiss M1889 bayonet for the pre-WW1 era Schmidt Rubin rifle; the handle’s spine is marked MADE IN SWITZERLAND. Original retail box and a tiny leather “scabbard” are included – this type is rare this nice and complete. The “scabbard” is all-leather; the tip is damaged; all original stitching is intact. This tiny “bayonet” is just 8-1/4″ / 21 cm long; chromed blade is about 5-3/4″ / 14.7 cm. Original wood grips; all parts are tight. Incredibly, this “bayonet” has a bayonet release button, which is in perfect working order. All you need now is to find a miniature M1889 Schmidt Rubin rifle to match this piece and you’re all set with a very cool collectible display 😉
This scarce vintage Switzerland M1889 miniature bayonet has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos. I have several “life-size” bayonets, sabers, fighting knives made from converted sabers, as well as some scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
