Russia 1912 SPB-EB (СПБ-ЭБ) silver Rouble; scarce year. Nicely toned AU with original patina; scratched reverse.
Original Nicholas II era (1894-1917) silver Rouble struck in 1912 at the St. Petersburg mint, mint master Elicum Babayantz (letters ЭБ on the rim); scarce small mintage year. Two world wars, the Russian Civil war, and the oppressive Soviet regime later means that just a fraction of the original mintage survived. The coin is about 34 mm in diameter, 20 grams. About Uncirculated condition specimen with great eye appeal and gorgeous multi-color patina. Unfortunately reverse has been scratched – see photos.
