Portugal 1718 gold 1000 Reis “Jerusalem cross Quartinho”; Ioannes (John) V era. Nicely toned XF with original patina; scarce this nice. Part of the life-long numismatic collection assembled many years ago.
The coin is about 18.6 mm in diameter, about 2.65 grams, “roped” rim; an interesting “re-engraved 1” date variety. Not cleaned with original patina; these are the actual photos. No rim nicks or clipped edges; one small bump at 9 o’clock on obverse is noted for accuracy. These early gold Quartinho issues are scarce this nice.
