Description

Philippines Moro machete traditional Mindanao/Moroland (Malay Archipelago) fighting knife, huge 14.75-in blade, horn handle, original hand-made leather scabbard. Great overall condition, considering the age.

Original late 1800th – early 1900th Malay Archipelago (Mindanao/Moroland) – present day Philippines square Bolo-blade style “Moro” fighting knife with hand-carved buffalo horn handle and original handmade and nicely decorated leather sheath. The knife is part of the veteran’s “bring-back trunk” collection. The knife is about 21” / 53.5 cm overall; narrow Bolo blade is about 14-3/4″ / 37.5 cm. The blade shows some signs of field use but the edge is undamaged, no typical ding marks on the spine; the tip is intact; some minor pitting/surface rust is noted for accuracy. Ricasso is hand-engraved with initials TN on one aside and number 15 on the other. Original greenish-brown horn handle is in very good condition with no cracks or chips; some insect damage near the pommel is noted for accuracy; all parts are tight with no play. Original well-made leather with floral design pattern on the throat is in great shape but the age has shrunk it a bit so now the blade doesn’t go in all the way in.  Still, this scarce early Philippines Moro machete early traditional Malay Archipelago fighting knife is in great overall shape, considering the age; it will be a welcome addition to any collection.

This original Philippines Moro machete has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.  I have  a few more machetes, sabers, fighting knives made from converted sword blades, as well as some scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
