Marbles USA vintage Woodcraft knife, original “Moose & Goose” leather sheath. Made in the early 1950th – short-lived Bakelite pommel type; rare UNUSED condition.
Vintage early 1950th MARBLE’S Woodcraft Hunter-Skinner in slightly used condition – VERY rare as such. Marble’s Woodcraft was the best Skinner available when it first came out in 1914; since then Woodcraft design was copied under different names by various companies countless times all over the world. Original American stock proudly made in the early 1950th in Gladstone, Michigan, USA. Marble’s Knives was one of the best US makers of hunting knives, axes and other outdoor gear since 1898.
Marble’s had a short-lived “Bakelite pommel” production run for just a couple of years in the 1950th. The type proved to be less popular than the traditional aluminum or stag pommels and was quickly discontinued; a scarce type nowadays. The knife is about 8-1/2″ / 21.5 cm overall; the blade is about 4-1/2″ / 11.3 cm long; 3-line Marble’s / Gladstone / MICH. U.S.A. logo on ricasso. Original factory edge is RAZOR-sharp; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers with black Bakelite pommel, colored fiber-n-brass spacers and brass half-guard handle; all parts are tight with no play. Original early 1950th “moose & goose” leather sheath is also unused; the leather is soft and supple, all original stitching and rivets are intact. This Marbles USA vintage Woodcraft knife is in in excellent overall shape. This type is VERY hard to find in the original unused condition; you will not be disappointed.
