Marbles USA 1949-1952 Woodcraft knife, original leather sheath, short-lived Bakelite pommel production run. Great overall condition, considering the age.

Vintage circa 1949-1952 MARBLE’S  Woodcraft Hunter-Skinner in slightly used condition – scarce as such. Marble’s Woodcraft was the best Skinner available when it first came out in 1914; since then Woodcraft design was copied under different names by various companies countless times all over the world. Original American stock proudly made in the early 1950th in Gladstone, Michigan, USA. Marble’s Knives was one of the best US makers of hunting knives, axes and other outdoor gear since 1898.

Marble’s had a short-lived “Bakelite pommel” production run for just a couple of years. The type proved to be less popular than traditional aluminum or stag pommels and was quickly discontinued; this is a scarce type nowadays. The knife is about 8-1/2″ / 21.5 cm overall; the blade is about 4-5/8″ / 11.8 cm long; 3-line Marble’s / Gladstone / MICH. U.S.A. logo on ricasso. The blade is RAZOR-sharp; it has been lightly re-sharpened; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers and dark-brown Bakelite pommel handle with colored fiber-n-brass spacers and brass guard; all parts are tight with no play. Original pre-1954 “plain” leather sheath with unmarked snap is in great condition; the leather is soft and supple. This vintage 1949-1952 Marbles USA vintage Woodcraft knife is in 100% serviceable condition still; you will not be disappointed.
