Original Vietnam War era MARBLE’S short-lived LONGHORN model with the hard-to find 6-inch blade option, wide bronze double-hilt, solid steel hexagon pommel, and original longhorn-embossed leather sheath; proudly made circa 1960th in Gladstone, Michigan, USA. Marble’s started the “Longhorn” line of knives in 1961; the knives had a military-style hex pommels and brand-new design heavy duty leather sheaths to attract potential customers preoccupied with the war in Vietnam. Also, Marble’s wanted to utilize the hex pommels left over from Marble’s original Jet Pilot Knife program. The Longhorn was an excellent-quality knife in every respect; some of these handy knives were picked up by the GIs getting shipped out to the South-East Asia. This Longhorn is in rare unused condition – this type is hard to find this nice as most of these knives were used in the field as intended.
The knife is about 10-5/8″ / 27 cm overall; the blade is about 6-1/8″ / 15.5 cm. Original factory edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. No nicks/contact marks on the blade’s spine or the pommel. Stacked leather washes handle with red-white-n-black fiber spacers. Solid steel hex pommel and bronze double-hilt guard; the handle is tight; bronze guard has a tiny bit of play. Original sheath is in excellent shape, considering the age; the keeper is nice and tight; the leather is soft and supple. This vintage Marbles Longhorn hunting knife 6-inch blade Hunter is in 100% serviceable condition still; don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection!
This original Vietnam War era Marbles Longhorn hunting knife 6-inch blade Hunter has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original condition; these are the actual photos.
