Rare vintage John Nelson Cooper CUSTOM hunter-skinner knife with scarce cast aluminum handle; new replacement sheath included. UNUSED CONDITION. FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE US
Rare an possibly one of kind handmade John Nelson Cooper CUSTOM – a great find! John N. Cooper (1906-1987) was one of the founding members of the American Knifemakers’ Guild and one of the greatest American knife makers of all time; his early customs are especially hard to find. John Cooper made only a few full-metal cast handled knives; this one features a solid cast aluminum handle with an integrated guard and a polished high-carbon blade with the classic “Cooper eagle” etching on one side. A small paper sticker with number 17 is still on the handle.
The blade is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. The handle is solid and it provides a very comfortable grip. The knife is about 7″ / 17.8 cm overall; the blade is about 3-3/8″ / 8.5 cm. The knife comes with a new modern sheath made of black nylon. The sheath is obviously no original to the knife, but it fits it perfectly. The stitching is intact; the keeper is nice and tight. Very interesting and certainly one-of-the kind and John Nelson Cooper CUSTOM hunter-skinner knife with new sheath included; it will be a great addition to any collection.
