Rare 1970th John Nelson Cooper custom boot knife dagger original sheath included, classic brown Micarta with bronze wittings handle; UNUSED CONDITION
Excellent quality small boot knife handmade by John Nelson Cooper; a great find! John N. Cooper (1906-1987) was the founding member of the American Knifemakers’ Guild and one of the greatest American knife makers of all time; his early customs are especially hard to find. This dagger was made in the classic vintage John Cooper style – hand finished dual edge dagger blade with the classic “Cooper eagle” on ricasso; the handle is brown micata with brazed bronze bolster and polished bronze pommel/spacers. Nice original honey-golden patina on the bronze; metal surfaces have not been cleaned and/or re-polished.
The blade is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. The handle is well-fitted and provides a very comfortable grip; all parts are solid with zero play. The knife is about 7-1/4″ / 18.4 cm overall; the blade is about 3-1/4″ / 8.3 cm. The knife comes with original “boot carry” custom-made black leather sheath in excellent overall condition. The stitching is intact; the leather is soft and supple. This sheath is designed for inside boot/pocket carry only – there are no cuts for a belt to go through. Very interesting and certainly one-of-the kind and rare John Nelson Cooper custom boot knife dagger original sheath; it will be a great addition to any collection.
