Description

James Furlow custom Bowie knife large Hunter/Fighter handmade in the 1970th in Atlanta, GA, USA. Rare type in hard to find UNUSED condition.

Excellent quality large hunting/fighting Bowie handmade by the late James Furlow in the late 1970th – a great find!  James was an active custom knifemaker out of Atlanta, GA up to the late 1970th, according to The Knife Magazine records.

This is an excellent quality knife with a superb fit and balance. The knife about 10-5/8″ / 27 cm overall, mirror-polished blade is about 6-1/8″ / 15.5 cm. This blade is nice and clean with no rust or dark spots; the handle is grooved brown micarta with brass spacer, polished bronze pommel, and an-extra wide bronze double-guard. The guard has original golden-honey patina; the pommel has a bit of oxidation along the micarta contact line (cleanable). The blade is razor-sharp, it has not been re-sharpened; the tip is intact; the blade is in excellent overall condition. This big boy weights about 12.6 oz / 360 grams; it is very well-balanced and sits comfortably in either hand. There is no sheath.

Very interesting and certainly one-of-the-kind vintage handmade James Furlow custom Bowie knife in rare unused condition. Not cleaned or polished; these are the actual photos. This rare vintage custom knife will make a great addition to any collection. Don’t forget to check out another vintage James Furlow custom I have in my store.
