Original pre-WW1 German pocket multi-tool marked D.R.G.M. on the lever lock; most of the tools are marked DRGM as well. The acronym D.R.G.M. stands for Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster – it means that the design was officially registered in the centralized German Imperial registry. The “DRGM” registration had a 3-year term; it could be extended just once by another 3 years – this is 100% authentic early 1900th era knife.
The set comes with the hanle and 8 separate tools – just open the lever/blade lock, slide in the base of the tool and close the lever to lock the blade in place. The tool’s handle is about 3-3/4” / 9.5 cm overall; exotic rosewood handle scales with brass pins; all parts are tight. The drop-point blade is about 3-1/4” / 8.2 cm long; the saw and file/large flathead screwdriver are about 3-1/2″/ 9 cm. All tools are intact with no damage; the mini-hammer’s stem is a little bent (looks like an easy fix). The smaller flathead screwdriver is the only tool that is not meant to be locked in. To use it simply insert it in the handle’s side. All other blades sit in the handle tight with no play whatsoever; the blade lock is in perfect working order. Original fancy-looking leather folding case is included. The case is in great shape, considering the age. The leather is sift and supple; all original stitching and snaps are intact. In spite of 100+ years this neat tool set is in great overall condition; it certainly is 100% serviceable still. Don’t miss your chance to add this original Germany pre-WW1 multi-tool knife set to your collection!
