Vintage long-discontinued Gerber Legendary Blades 1996 1st production run Paul Knife Series II, Model 2 folder; still in the original presentation box, complete with registration card, care instructions and original cardboard outer sleeve; manufactured in Portland, Oregon, USA. This fancy Paul Knife was designed by Paul W. Poehlmann – a well-known airspace engineer and an accomplished knifemaker. Paul patented his “Axial Locking Mechanism” in 1976; he’s also the holder of some additional 20 patents in folding knife design. This in an excellent quality knife; the blade opens and locks with a soft snap (you have to squeeze the lock’s button to open/close the blade); patented “Paul” lock is in perfect working order. This beauty is 6-5/8″ / 16.2 cm opened with the 2-5/8” / 6.5 cm 400-series stainless steel blade. Mirror-polished stainless steel frame; carbon fiber/nylon resin handle scales. The knife is in mint, unissued condition with original factory edge; the tip is intact. Hard-shell plastic case is in excellent overall condition with no scratches or scoff marks. Scarce GERBER USA 1996 PAUL KNIFE MODEL 2 limited addition knife, complete with original paperwork – rare as such. This knife will make an excellent addition to any collection.
