Bavaria 1837 silver 2 Thaler large 3-1/2 Gulden Monetary Union commemorative in XF condition. Ludwig I era 1-year type; rare issue with a tiny mintage – very hard to find nowadays.
Rare Monetary Union of Six South German States 1837 Bavarian commemorative issue – VERY hard to find type with a tiny mintage (the actual number of specimens is unknown). Large Crown-size coin – about 38 mm in diameter, 37.12 grams, inscription on the rim. Looks like an old cleaning with a new light-gray patina that has developed since. No rim bumps or nicks; these are the actual photos.
This rare Bavaria 1837 silver 2 Thaler is not a later reproduction or a copy; it is guaranteed to be 100% authentic or your money back. This coin was part of the life-long numismatic collection assembled an American German-born doctor; it is still in its original circa 1970th-1980th coin flip with the original owner’s hand-written note (looks like the previous owner paid $375 for this coin back in the days).
