Australia WW2 Lithgow M1907 bayonet for Enfield rifle, 1944-dated blade, original 1942 Mangrovite scabbard; great overall condition.

Original WW2 era Model Pattern 1907/1942 bayonet for the British SMLE rifle. Manufactured by in 1944 by Lithgow; the bayonet is a bit used but it is in much better than average condition for the type. The blade is about 17” / 43.2 cm long; the bayonet is about 21-3/4” / 55.3 cm overall. The blade is straight with no dings on the spine; multiple small edge nicks are noted for accuracy; the tip is intact. Ricasso is finely stamped MA / 1907 / 1/ 10 ’44 on one side, “↑” arsenal acceptance stamp / X O A inspection stamps on the other. Bayonet locking mechanism is in perfect working order; wood grips and screws are intact; both wood grips are marked SLAZ 44. The muzzle ring is intact with no dings. The bayonet retained about 95% of the original bluing; some light surface rust spots on the handle are noted for accuracy.

Original leather-and-metal fittings scabbard is in great shape, considering the age. The scabbard was manufactured  in 1942 by Mangrovite Belting Pty, Ltd. – a Sidney-area tannery. The scabbard is in great serviceable condition as well; no dents or dings on the metal; the leather is not dry. Metal throat is stamped 3MD33047 on the upper lip and letter A within a star mark below the frog stud.  This original Australia WW2 Lithgow M1907 bayonet and scabbard have not been cleaned or tampered with in any way; the set is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
