AL MAR model CV-BM Shiva fighting knife Japan made; original black leather sheath and correct retail box. Rare MINT CONDITION
Scarce circa 1982 AL MAR KNIVES model SV-BM Shiva fighting knife with the blade that has a core of a super-tough VG-10 steel. Manufactured in Seki, Japan; the knife is still in the original correctly-labeled retail box with a cardboard blade protector and original black leather sheath. A few oil lines on one side of the box are noted for accuracy; the knife and sheath are in absolute mint condition.
About 10″ / 25.4 cm overall; the blade is about 5-1/4″ / 13.4 cm. The Shiva is an original Al Mar design and it was the first tactical fixed blade ever made with a laminated VG-10 stainless steel blade. Laminating the VG-10 between two layers of 400 series stainless steel increases the lateral strength of the blade by about 30% without increasing the weight or bulk of the knife. This fighting knife has a beautiful tapered tang, contoured and polished black Micarta scales, early type nickel-silver guard and a traditional black Al Mar leather sheath.
A superb early AL MAR model CV-BM Shiva fighting knife Japan made dagger in excellent overall condition; these early Shivas are VERY hard to find in mint condition AND with the original retail packaging included; don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection!
